Joint meeting in progress

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Beijing Institute, Sichuan Institute, State Key Laboratory, and Alliance presented reports and exchanged views on their work progress during the first half of 2026 and work plans for the second half of the year. Particular attention was given to the implementation of key initiatives in team development, talent cultivation, research breakthroughs, international collaboration, and industry–research collaboration, with the aim of aligning development priorities and coordinating overall planning.

Work reports

The thematic discussion session focused on current development priorities and strategic planning and adopted a format combining lead presentations with group discussion. In-depth discussions were held on six topics: “Relocation to the Nankou Base of the State Key Laboratory and Laboratory Acceptance,” “International Collaboration,” “The Research Collaboration Mechanism between the Department of Electrical Engineering and the National Key Laboratory,” “Proactive Strategic Planning and the Upgrading of Organized Research,” “Exploring Industrial Development by the Research Institutes,” and “The Development Plan for the Dianyuan 2.0 AI Academic Knowledge Engine and Collaborative Initiatives.” Drawing on their practical experience, participants conducted in-depth analyses of key issues and actively offered suggestions and recommendations, providing strong support for building broader consensus on development priorities and identifying directions for tackling major challenges.

Discussion session

Kang Chongqing delivered concluding remarks. He emphasized that all five entities under the “One Department, Two Institutes, One Laboratory and One Alliance” framework should align their work with the national 15th Five-Year Plan and related strategic priorities, and continue to advance the “five-in-one” collaborative mechanism. They should focus on core tasks including major technological breakthroughs, major project initiatives, enhancing the quality of major basic research, breakthroughs in major awards, the recruitment and development of high-level talent, deeper international collaboration, and think tank development. By concentrating advantageous resources and mobilizing the collective efforts of all personnel, the entities should clarify development objectives, optimize implementation pathways, and ensure that initiatives are translated into tangible outcomes. They should also continue to refine the model of organized research, strengthen cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation, advance the development of key platforms, and facilitate deeper integration of industry, academia, and research, thereby contributing to the development of a high-level research system and high-quality academic disciplines.
