The finest season of spring is the perfect time to set sail and begin a new journey. At 17:00 on the afternoon of April 17 (Friday), accompanied by a gentle spring breeze and warm sunshine, the inaugural “Pursuing Wind on the Research Path: Spring Fitness Run” jointly organized by the labor union branch of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University, and the DEE Branch of the Postdoctoral Association officially kicked off at the East Playground. The inaugural event attracted active participation from numerous postdoctoral researchers and faculty members of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Yu Xinjie, Director of the Human Resources Department of Tsinghua University, Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Lu Chao, Deputy Dean of the Department, and Chen Laijun, Deputy Dean of the Department, attended the event, interacting with participants and sharing the sweat and joy brought by sports.

Thoughtful logistical support ensuring health and safety

To ensure a safe and comfortable running experience, the organizers made thorough preparations at the on-site supply station. In addition to carefully prepared energy supplies such as bananas, chocolate, and functional beverages, first-aid medical kits including Yunnan Baiyao were also thoughtfully provided, offering comprehensive safety protection for all participants.

Tsinghua Purple shines on the East Playground as participants strive forward

With the starting signal, participants dressed in uniform Tsinghua purple short-sleeved shirts stepped off energetically. The vibrant “Tsinghua Purple” flashed across the red synthetic track of the East Playground, forming a striking and dynamic scene filled with youthful energy. In this 3-kilometer fitness run challenge, participants either sprinted forward with determination or jogged in groups, fully demonstrating the vigorous and upward spirit of the Department of Electrical Engineering.

It is worth mentioning that Professor He Jinliang demonstrated remarkable physical endurance and performance in this 3-kilometer run. He maintained a steady lead throughout the race and finished strongly with an impressive average pace of 4'47'', crossing the finish line first. He received enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience.

Three kilometers is not the end, but the starting point of a healthy lifestyle. After successfully completing the challenge, participants gathered at the prize redemption area to receive carefully prepared commemorative gifts from the organizers. Holding their well-earned prizes, participants exchanged running experiences and stories, filling the venue with laughter and smiling faces.
