On the morning of November 25, Thomas Altmann, Executive Vice President for Innovation and New Technologies of ACWA Power, and Leiliang Kobayashi, Head of the Department of Innovation and Emerging Technologies, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), Tsinghua University, to discuss and explore cooperation opportunities. Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Sun Kai, Deputy Director, Researcher Ci Song, Zhang Yuan from the Office for International Cooperation Programs of Tsinghua University, and Wang Yaqian from the Overseas Affairs Office of the Research Office of Tsinghua University attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Sun Kai.

At the exchange meeting, Kang Chongqing introduced the basic overview of EEA; Zhang Yuan introduced Tsinghua University’s international exchange and cooperation activities; Wang Yaqian introduced Tsinghua University’s international cooperative research programs and related management approaches; Sun Kai gave a detailed introduction to the Department’s research teams and scientific research achievements; and Ci Song delivered a technical presentation entitled “100s MW Dynamic Reconfigurable Battery Energy Storage Technology.” The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the feasibility and models of mid- and long-term cooperation in areas such as clean energy technologies, new-type energy storage technologies, artificial intelligence, and big data.
