On May 10, the 14th Engineering Doctoral Forum of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) was successfully held by the Sichuan Tianfu New Area at Xinglong Lake. The forum was hosted by the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute (Sichuan Institute). Engineering doctoral supervisors from EEA at Tsinghua University, innovation-leading engineering doctoral mentors from Southwest regional project enterprises, and innovation-leading engineering doctoral students gathered to conduct in-depth discussions focusing on the cultivation of engineering doctors and frontier topics in engineering. The event was chaired by Wang Jia, Director of the Human Resources Department of the Sichuan Institute.
Huang Lei, Deputy Director of the Party and Mass Work Department of the Party Working Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, in his speech, introduced in detail the remarkable achievements Tianfu New Area has made in recent years in economic development, urban construction, and talent attraction. He highlighted the superior talent policy system and development environment of Tianfu New Area and expressed hope that the experts and engineering doctoral students present could gain a deep understanding of Tianfu New Area, and realize their talents and dreams there.

The successful conclusion of this forum was strongly supported by the Sichuan Institute. Through mentor guidance and student exchanges, the academic horizons of engineering doctoral students were further broadened and their research and cultivation directions clarified. As the regional base of the Southwest project, the Sichuan Institute will regularly host the Tsinghua University EEA Engineering Doctoral Spring Forum, continuously providing a high-level, high-quality cultivation and exchange platform for engineering doctoral education.
The “EEA Engineering Doctoral Forum” is an academic exchange platform organized by EEA and freely applied for by enrolled engineering doctoral students. It is generally held once every 3–4 months. The forum encourages students to report thesis progress and present research achievements, aiming to strengthen management of the engineering doctoral cultivation process, while inspiring innovative thinking and promoting project collaboration. Since December 2020, EEA has successfully held fourteen such forums in Beijing, Changzhou, Qingdao, Chengdu (online), Fuzhou (online), Xining, Guangzhou (online), Shanghai, Yantai, Beijing, Chengdu, Tai’an, Beijing, and Chengdu.
