On the afternoon of April 26, the Executive Council election meeting of the Alumni Association of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) of Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as the EEA Alumni Association) was held at the West Main Building. Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA and President of the EEA Alumni Association, Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of the Department and Vice President of the Alumni Association, along with candidates for the third Executive Council and some alumni council members—over thirty people in total—attended the meeting both online and offline. The meeting was hosted by Yu Zhanqing, Deputy Secretary of the Department Party Committee and Secretary General of the EEA Alumni Association.

Kang Chongqing delivered a speech on behalf of the EEA Alumni Association. He highly praised the significant achievements made under the guidance of the second Executive Council in areas such as standardized management, alumni networking, and event organization. He expressed hope that the new council would take this meeting as an opportunity to continue uniting the broad alumni base and further serve as a bridge and link for alumni development and the university’s “Double First-Class” initiative. Kang also introduced recent progress made by the Alumni Association in self-construction and networking service systems, hoping the EEA Alumni Association would continue to work closely with the main Alumni Association and play a greater role in supporting the department’s development. Yu Zhanqing explained the revisions to the work methods of the EEA Alumni Association, as well as the election and nomination procedures for council and executive council members, and announced the list of the third Executive Council members.

During the alumni exchange session, members of the Executive Council actively spoke up, offering suggestions and strategies to advance alumni work. In his concluding remarks, Zheng Zedong stated that the development of the department could not be achieved without the selfless dedication of alumni. He sincerely thanked the second Executive Council for their wholehearted support in organizing alumni brand activities and participating in the department’s development. He also congratulated the newly elected third Executive Council members, expressing hope that under their leadership, the EEA Alumni Association would flourish and create a new chapter in alumni work.

With strong winds filling sails and dragons soaring across the seas, we forge ahead anew. The new Executive Council of the EEA Alumni Association of Tsinghua University will continue to provide warmer services for connecting alumni, fostering friendships, sharing resources, and seeking common development, jointly building a spiritual home for the electrical engineering alumni!
