From August 21 to 23, the 12th International Exhibition of Inventions, Belt and Road Initiative & BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition, was held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. The Cisong Team from the Department of Electrical Engineering won a Gold Medal for its project, “Intelligent Full-Life-Cycle Operation and Maintenance Platform for Digital Energy Storage Batteries Based on Multi-Level AI Fusion.” Researcher Cisong is the project's first inventor, with Tsinghua University serving as the project's primary completing institution.

The Intelligent Full-Life-Cycle Operation and Maintenance Platform for Digital Energy Storage Batteries Based on Multi-Level AI Fusion, also known as the “Xuanwei” Platform, builds on the research achievements of the Cisong Team and the accumulated R&D expertise of YunChu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., bringing together academic research and industrial application. Built on dynamic reconfigurable battery network technology, the “Xuanwei” Platform adopts a microservices-based, cloud-native SaaS architecture and features four core functions: real-time monitoring, fault tracing, data analysis and prediction, and an intelligent operation and maintenance assistant. Its key innovation lies in the deep integration of a vertical large language model for energy storage with a knowledge graph, reducing reliance on traditional operation and maintenance practices based on human experience and enabling end-to-end intelligent management, from underlying state sensing to operation and maintenance decision-making. The platform supports multi-tenant data isolation and on-demand subscriptions, is compatible with heterogeneous battery equipment and BMS protocols from different manufacturers, and can be deployed either independently or in clusters. The platform has already been connected to data from multiple battery energy storage projects at the hundred-megawatt-hour scale, supporting full-life-cycle services including condition assessment, proactive warning, and coordinated operation and maintenance. It helps reduce the operation and maintenance costs of battery energy storage projects while facilitating the credible financialization and efficient circulation of energy storage assets. The Cisong Team from the Department of Electrical Engineering has conducted in-depth research for many years in such fields as information-energy convergence technologies, embedded artificial intelligence, complex-system modeling, and control optimization, achieving a series of breakthroughs. The team has led and undertaken a number of major national research projects, including projects under the National Key Research and Development Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Its research achievements have received numerous honors, including First Place in the New Energy Storage Life Simulation and Prediction Technology category of the Advanced Energy Storage Technology Innovation Challenge organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; First Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Institute of Communications; selection for the first-of-a-kind major technical equipment list of the National Energy Administration; a Gold Medal at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions; a Gold Medal at the China International Exhibition of Inventions; and First Prize at the HICOOL Global Entrepreneurship Competition.

The International Exhibition of Inventions is one of China's largest and most prestigious exhibitions dedicated to inventions. It is jointly organized by the China Association of Inventions, the Chinese Council of the BRICS Business Council, the Guangzhou Municipal Collaboration Office, and other organizations. With the theme “Co-Creating High-Quality Development through Invention and Innovation,” this year's exhibition showcased more than 3,700 innovative inventions from China and abroad across seven specialized exhibition areas, attracting participants from more than 30 countries and international organizations for exchanges and displays.
