On April 3, a delegation from the School of Electrical Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology—including Dean Ye Xuerong, Deputy Party Secretary Liu Yi, Dean Assistant Duan Jiandong, and Director of the Power System Research Institute Xu Ying—visited the Department of Electrical Engineering. They were received by Party Secretary Zheng Zedong, Deputy Party Secretary Yu Zhanqing, and Deputy Dean Sun Kai of the Department. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Zedong.

Dean Ye Xuerong provided a comprehensive introduction to the overall development of the School of Electrical Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology, covering its history, organizational structure, talent cultivation, and faculty development. He also systematically presented key research areas, major achievements, and the strategic planning for disciplinary development during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period.

Assistant to the Department Dean Li Shisong shared the Department’s research initiatives, focusing on research team building, major scientific achievements, and international collaboration. Zheng Zedong introduced the overall status and personnel work of the Department, including faculty composition, teacher management, and postdoctoral development. Party Committee Member and Student Affairs Director Zhang Ling elaborated on ideological and political education, talent cultivation, student development, employment guidance, and alumni engagement.

During the discussion session, both sides engaged in in-depth and pragmatic exchanges on topics such as the “one department, two schools” development model, innovation in talent cultivation, residential college education systems, and graduate employment guidance.

Both leaders delivered concluding remarks. Dean Ye expressed sincere gratitude for the long-standing support provided by the Department of Electrical Engineering, highly commended its achievements in discipline development, talent cultivation, and scientific innovation, and expressed hope for continued deepened cooperation and expanded platforms for exchange. Zheng Zedong stated that the Department will continue to strengthen communication and collaboration with Harbin Institute of Technology, jointly promote advancement in discipline development and talent training in electrical engineering, and contribute to the high-quality development of China’s electrical engineering sector.
