On October 30, 2025, the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China officially released the 2025 China Science and Technology Journal Citation Report (Core Edition). iEnergy (Journal of Electric Power and Energy (English)) (ISSN: 2771-9197) has been selected as a 2025 “China Science and Technology Core Journal (Natural Sciences)”.

Among the 2025 “China Science and Technology Core Journals” (Statistical Source Journals) in the natural sciences, a total of 767 journals were shortlisted for evaluation, including 680 journals in the natural sciences. This year’s list newly added 70 English-language journals. To date, the “China Science and Technology Core Journals (Natural Sciences)” include a total of 197 English-language journals.

About the “China Science and Technology Core Journals” (Statistical Source Journals)

The selection of China Science and Technology Core Journals is initiated by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Each year, more than 20 academic bibliometric indicators, such as total core citations, core impact factor, and the volume of source literature, are subjected to rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, with dynamic adjustments made based on each journal’s metrics. The aim is to identify science and technology journals that accurately reflect disciplinary development and possess significant influence. This system is one of the most important evaluation frameworks across disciplines in China and reflects the development level of each field.

About iEnergy

iEnergy (Journal of Electric Power and Energy (English)) is a fully open-access, international English-language academic journal sponsored by Tsinghua University, published by Tsinghua University Press, with overseas dissemination by IEEE, academic support from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University, and Professor He Jinliang serving as Editor-in-Chief.

The journal was launched in March 2022 and is published quarterly. To date, it has released 4 volumes and 13 issues, publishing a total of 138 papers. Published articles have been cited by 179 journals from 45 countries. Citing journals include top-tier journals in the field such as Nature Energy, Joule, Energy & Environmental Science, Angewandte Chemie, and Advanced Materials.

The journal is currently indexed by internationally renowned databases including ESCI, Ei Compendex, Scopus, DOAJ, CAS, and Inspec. In 2024, it received its first CiteScore of 7.4 (released by Scopus), ranking in Q1; its Impact Factor is 5.1 (released by Clarivate). It was also selected for the Phase II High-Starting-Point New Journal Subproject of the 2024 China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan.
