On the morning of November 12, Zhao Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Computer Science, together with Han Wentao and a delegation of eight members, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering for a research exchange. Zheng Zedong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering, along with Deputy Secretaries Wu Wenchuan and Yu Zhanqing, among others, participated in the discussion. The meeting was chaired by Wu Wenchuan.

Liu Lin, Party Committee member and Organization Officer of the Department of Electrical Engineering, introduced the Party Committee work of the department, providing a detailed report on the basic situation of Party building, working ideas, and future plans. She emphasized that the Party Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering has consistently adhered strictly to the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the University Party Committee, using high-quality Party building to lead high-quality development.

Zheng Zedong noted that the Department of Computer Science has achieved remarkable results in Party building leadership and alumni engagement. As both departments are engineering faculties, faculty development and talent cultivation are shared core issues. He emphasized the hope of exploring cooperation opportunities with the Department of Computer Science in interdisciplinary areas such as AI empowerment, to achieve complementary advantages.

Zhao Ying introduced the basic situation of the Department of Computer Science and stated that the department regards Party building as an important lever for leading its central work. Through measures such as “one-on-one conversations to resolve work difficulties” and “joint construction of faculty–student Party branches to build distinctive brands,” the department has promoted the deep integration of Party building and business work. She emphasized that this visit to the Department of Electrical Engineering was a “learning journey,” and expressed the hope of learning from the Department of Electrical Engineering’s experience in integrating Party building with disciplinary development to build consensus.

During the exchange and discussion session, both departments engaged in in-depth discussions on Party building, talent cultivation, talent recruitment, disciplinary characteristics, and development.
