On August 20, a delegation from Singapore National Metrology Centre (A*STAR National Metrology Centre), led by Director Gregory Goh, including Meng Yusong, Head of the Electromagnetic and Time Metrology Division, and Cui Shan, Head of the Acoustics, Chemistry, and Temperature Metrology Division, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA). They were received by EEA Deputy Dean Sun Kai, Director of the Institute of Electrical New Technology Huang Songling, EEA Assistant Dean Li Shisong, and key members of Tsinghua University’s Power Balance Project team.

Before the discussion session, Li Shisong accompanied the delegation on a tour of the EEA History Museum. During the meeting, Sun Kai welcomed the delegation and introduced the Department’s history, discipline development, talent training, research directions, and achievements in international cooperation. Gregory Goh expressed that the purpose of the visit was to focus on exchange in the field of power balance research and to explore potential future scientific collaboration between the two sides. Meng Yusong provided an overview of A*STAR National Metrology Centre, including its institutional positioning, development profile, research layout, and scientific achievements.

Subsequently, Li Shisong presented the latest research progress of Tsinghua University’s Power Balance Project to the delegation. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on specific technical issues. Finally, Li Shisong accompanied Gregory Goh and his team on a tour of the EEA Power Balance Lab. Supported by a national-level youth talent project, the Tsinghua Power Balance Project aims to advance the development and establishment of the next-generation quantum mass standards and to promote the early implementation of quantum mass standard instruments in national metrology institutes of more countries.
