On the morning of July 11, Gu Wei, Party Secretary of the School of Electrical Engineering at Southeast University, along with Vice Dean Hua Wei, Party Deputy Secretary and Vice Dean Cao Yi, and 10 other representatives, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) at Tsinghua University. The delegation was warmly received by EEA Dean Kang Chongqing, Party Secretary Zheng Zedong, Party Deputy Secretary Wu Wenchuan, and 12 other department members. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Zedong.

Hua Wei provided a comprehensive introduction to the overall work of Southeast University’s School of Electrical Engineering, covering the history, textbook development, talent cultivation, team building, scientific research, international exchange, and other aspects. He expressed that the School of Electrical Engineering at Southeast University hopes to learn from the advanced experiences of EEA to support higher-quality development across various areas.

Liu Lin, Party Committee member of EEA, introduced the department’s work in party building, detailing the basic situation, work approach, and future plans. She emphasized that the EEA Party Committee has always strictly adhered to the decisions of the Party Central Committee and the university’s Party Committee, leading high-quality development through high-quality party building.

Vice Dean Zhang Pinjia elaborated on the talent cultivation work at EEA. He analyzed the opportunities and challenges facing talent cultivation models in the context of China’s power and energy reforms, provided a detailed introduction to the objectives and educational philosophy of Ziqiang College, and expressed gratitude for the strong support and assistance provided by peer institutions in the development and construction of the department.

Party Committee member and Deputy Dean Lu Chao introduced the discipline construction and scientific research work at EEA, covering the development of the research team, the composition of research groups, scientific research projects and achievements, and international research collaborations.

Party Deputy Secretary Yu Zhanqing presented the student work of the department, stressing the need to advance the comprehensive development of students by implementing the "five educations" approach, with moral education as the primary task. He emphasized the integration of the “three-in-one” educational philosophy and the importance of practical education, aiming to build a progressive social practice training system that includes ideological practice, domestic practice, and overseas practice.

During the discussion, participants engaged in a lively exchange on several topics, including the organizational structure of the “Five-in-One” strategic layout of EEA, the model of the Party Committee meetings and the Party-government Joint Conference (three meetings and four stages), curriculum design at Ziqiang College, the development of the counselor team, recruitment of research personnel, graduate student training, and alumni work.

In the concluding remarks, both parties expressed their intention to strengthen connections and utilize platforms to mutually learn and promote progress in scientific research and talent cultivation, looking forward to further exchanges and collaborations in the future.
