On the afternoon of July 2, a delegation of 23 members led by Dato’ Ir. Ts. Abdul Razib Dawood, Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) at Tsinghua University for an exchange activity.

The meeting was attended by EEA Dean Kang Chongqing, Senior Supervisor Zhang Han from Tsinghua University’s Office of International Affairs, Deputy Director Gao Feng of the Tsinghua University Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, Assistant Dean Li Shisong from EEA, Deputy Director Zhang Ning of the New Power Systems Research Center at the Tsinghua Carbon Neutrality Research Institute, among others. The session was chaired by Sun Kai, Deputy Dean of EEA.

Kang Chongqing warmly welcomed the ASEAN Centre for Energy delegation and introduced the development history of EEA, as well as its scientific research and talent development in the power and energy sectors. In his speech, Zhang Han expressed hope for deeper future exchanges and cooperation between Tsinghua University and the ASEAN Centre for Energy in the field of power and energy. Dato’ Ir. Ts. Abdul Razib Dawood thanked EEA for its hospitality, outlined the ASEAN Centre for Energy’s focus on promoting regional energy development, and expressed a strong willingness to strengthen cooperation with Tsinghua University.

Following this, representatives from Tsinghua University introduced the recent developments of EEA, the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, and the Carbon Neutrality Research Institute, covering topics such as organizational structure, research achievements, and international collaborations. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as energy internet, new energy materials, and personnel training.

After the meeting, the ASEAN Centre for Energy delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of New Type Power System Operation and Control, specifically the Power System Dynamic Simulation Laboratory.

This visit fostered mutual understanding between EEA and the ASEAN Centre for Energy, laying a solid foundation for deepening future cooperation between the two parties.
