On June 27, Tsinghua University Party Secretary Qiu Yong, Vice Chairman of the University Council Yang Bin, EEA Dean Kang Chongqing, Deputy Dean Zhang Pinjia, and others visited the headquarters of China Electric Power Corporation (CEPC) in Hong Kong, where they met with CEPC CEO Jiang Dongqiang and other senior management members for an exchange of ideas.

During this meeting, EEA and CEPC signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly launch an internship exchange program and co-establish Tsinghua University's first "Undergraduate Practical Teaching Base" in Hong Kong, injecting new energy into the talent development in the power and energy sectors.

Following this, CEPC, Tsinghua University Education Foundation, and EEA also signed a memorandum to further deepen their cooperation. Through the "Tsinghua Friends-CEPC Education Fund," CEPC will support Tsinghua University's Ziqiang College's teaching and research activities as well as student scholarships.

The cooperation between CEPC and Tsinghua University began in 2009, with CEPC donating to establish the "Tsinghua Friends-CEPC Education Fund." This fund supports EEA’s teaching and research work through scholarships, research grants, and teaching practice activities. The scholarship program has provided funding to approximately 500 outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in EEA. According to the newly signed strategic cooperation agreement, starting from the summer of 2026, CEPC and Tsinghua University will deepen their collaboration. Each year, 10 undergraduate students from Tsinghua University's Ziqiang College will be sent to Hong Kong for a four-week internship covering areas such as new power systems, low-carbon energy technologies, artificial intelligence, and information technology.

EEA has been dedicated to cultivating top energy talent. This deepened cooperation with CEPC not only continues the achievements of both parties but also explores new ways of integrating industry, academia, and research in talent development. In the future, relying on this practical teaching base, EEA will nurture students' green innovation and digital transformation thinking, contributing to the development of the national energy sector and the achievement of the "dual-carbon" goals by delivering innovative talents with both theoretical depth and practical abilities.
