The report from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China states, "Accelerate the construction of national strategic talent forces, and strive to cultivate more masters, strategic scientists, top technological leaders, innovative teams, young scientific and technological talents, outstanding engineers, national craftsmen, and high-skilled talents." For the first time, national craftsmen and high-skilled talents have been included as part of the national strategic talent force. In response to the Party Central Committee's call and to promote high-quality development in enterprises, the "State Grid Hebei Electric Power Company (referred to as ‘Hebei Electric Power’) Excellence Craftsman Advanced Training Class" successfully opened on June 17 in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) at Tsinghua University. The purpose of this training class is to implement the national strategic deployment for building high-skilled talent teams, promote the spirit of craftsmanship, and accelerate the cultivation of a batch of knowledge-based, skilled, and innovative high-quality power craftsmen with leadership potential.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony was attended by Zhou Aihui, Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hebei Electric Power; Guo Zhao, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the School of Continuing Education at Tsinghua University; Zhang Jie, from the EEA; and Lü Qing, Vice Chairman of the Hebei Electric Power Workers' Union. The ceremony was hosted by Tang Wei, Deputy Director of the Party Committee's Organization Department of Hebei Electric Power. Forty craftsmen and high-skilled experts from Hebei Electric Power participated in the training.

Guo Zhao warmly welcomed the attending leaders and all trainees, expressing heartfelt thanks to Hebei Electric Power for trusting Tsinghua University. He emphasized that the School of Continuing Education has always relied on Tsinghua University's strong disciplinary advantages and deep academic accumulation, aiming to provide high-level, customized lifelong learning services for various industries. This training class focuses on the cultivation of "Excellence Craftsmen," aligning perfectly with the national policy to promote the construction of industrial worker teams, reflecting Hebei Electric Power’s forward-thinking approach to talent strategy. He encouraged everyone to consider the “why, what, how, and how well” of their learning process, emphasizing the organic unity of learning, questioning, thinking, debating, and acting.

Zhang Jie systematically introduced the historical development and frontier exploration of EEA. He reviewed the department’s century-long development and emphasized that it has now formed a structure of "One Department, Two Institutes, One Lab, and One Alliance," fostering a collaborative ecosystem for industry-university-research integration. He also elaborated on the three core dimensions of discipline construction, research transformation, and talent cultivation. He expressed hope that through this training class, the cooperation between the university and industry would deepen in the field of "industry-university-research application," contributing to the construction of new power systems and the high-quality development of the energy industry.

Lv Qing gave a detailed introduction to the teaching arrangements of the training class. The curriculum has been carefully designed and scientifically planned, with rich and diverse content, featuring key modules such as: the inheritance and shaping of craftsmanship spirit, the current status and future of artificial intelligence, new power systems, macroeconomic conditions, Tsinghua spirit and cultural experience, national key laboratories, and seminar discussions. The teaching integrates theoretical frontiers with engineering practices, combining classroom lectures with interactive discussions, as well as on-campus learning with field visits.

Class committee representative Wang Qiang and student representative Liu Hongji expressed their commitment on behalf of all trainees. The class committee will serve as a model for learning and class services, and all trainees will cherish the opportunity to study at Tsinghua University, diligently researching and applying what they learn, deeply integrating Tsinghua's advanced concepts, cutting-edge technologies, and the practical needs of Hebei Electric Power, striving to become the backbone of technological progress and industry development.

He emphasized adhering to Tsinghua University's rules and regulations, implementing the spirit of the central government's eight-point regulations, and displaying Hebei Electric Power’s good image with excellent discipline and academic style.
