On May 23, Kang Chongqing, Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), and his team visited TBEA Technology Investment Co., Ltd. in Wuqing, Tianjin, to hold the annual meeting of the Special Management Committee of Tsinghua University-TBEA "Energy Power Equipment Technology" Industry-Academia-Research Deep Integration. Participants included experts from Tsinghua University's EEA, School of Materials, School of Software, and the State Key Laboratory of New Type Power System Operation and Control (State Key Lab), including Sun Kai, Xiong Shoumei, Li Jianguo, Wang Jiliang, Cui Bin, Zi Zhenning, Huang Shangshi, and others.

Zhao Jing, Vice President of TBEA Co., Ltd. and Vice Chairman of the Special Advisory Committee of Industry-Academia-Research, warmly welcomed the Tsinghua delegation. He thanked the leaders and experts from Tsinghua University's Research Institute, EEA, School of Materials, School of Software, and State Key Lab for their long-standing support. He introduced TBEA's recent developments, focusing on the cooperation between TBEA and Tsinghua University in technological innovation in the field of new power systems. He pointed out that TBEA has a solid cooperation foundation with multiple departments of Tsinghua University and has maintained close communication. He hoped both sides would strengthen high-level scientific and technological collaboration in areas such as new equipment, new materials, new energy, and artificial intelligence applications, promote deeper industry-academia-research integration, and help achieve China's "dual carbon" goals.

Li Shuiqing, Vice Dean of Tsinghua University's Research Institute, delivered an online speech. He introduced Tsinghua's recent developments in scientific and technological innovation and emphasized that the Industry-Academia-Research Deep Integration Special was launched by Tsinghua University to promote the deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application. The special initiative, led by EEA, involves interdisciplinary teams from multiple departments, and significant progress has been made in the year since its initiation. He expressed hope that both sides would further deepen exchanges, expand cooperation areas, refine innovation directions, and make greater contributions to the high-quality development of China’s energy power equipment industry and technological innovation in Xinjiang.

Kang Chongqing, Vice Chairman of the Special Advisory Committee of Industry-Academia-Research, highly praised TBEA's outstanding achievements in the field of energy power equipment in recent years. He briefly introduced the organizational structure of Tsinghua University's "One Department, Two Institutes, One Lab, and One Alliance" and the university's efforts in scientific innovation and talent cultivation, thanking TBEA for their long-term support. He noted that both sides have a long-term good cooperation foundation and hoped that the annual meeting of the Special Management Committee of "Energy Power Equipment Technologies" Industry-Academia-Research would further increase cooperation, explore new research directions, and jointly push for breakthroughs in new power system key technologies.

At the meeting, the directors of the Industry-Academia-Research Special Management Committee, Sun Kai (EEA) and Li Feng (TBEA Central Research Institute), introduced the cooperation progress of the first year and the work plan for the second year. Researchers from Tsinghua University, including Li Jianguo, Wang Jiliang, Cui Bin, Huang Shangshi, Zi Zhenning, Hou Xiaochao, and Li Meng, presented special reports on the following cooperation projects: "Types, Formation Mechanisms, and Control Technologies of Inclusions in Super Large-Size 2nd and 7th Series Aluminum Alloy Cast Ingots," "Key Technologies of the ‘Sensory Intelligence Integration’ New Industrial Intelligent Management System," "Key Technologies for High Voltage Hybrid Commutation Converter Valves," "Medium Voltage DC Cables for Distribution Network DC Equipment Connections," "Key Technologies for Scaled Offshore Wind Power Full DC Collection and Transmission Systems," and "Key Stability Control Technologies for Key Conversion Equipment in New Energy Stations." Experts and leaders from TBEA Co., Ltd., Shandong Luneng Taishan Cable Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Zhonghe Co., Ltd., TBEA Xi'an Electrical Technology Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Tianchi Energy Co., Ltd., TBEA Technology Investment Co., Ltd., Xinjiang New Energy Co., Ltd., Delixi Group Cable Research Institute, and TBEA Xinjiang Transformer Factory attended the meeting and participated in in-depth technical exchanges.

After the meeting, the Tsinghua University delegation visited the TBEA Central Research Institute laboratory and engaged in group discussions with technical experts from TBEA’s subsidiary industries, including new energy, cable, energy, and new materials.
