On the morning of May 14, Liu Yadong, Executive Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Li Rui, Associate Dean, Jiang Xiuchen, Director of the National Energy Smart Grid (Shanghai) R&D Center, and Liang Maozong, Head of Student Affairs, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA). Attending the meeting from EEA were Department Dean Kang Chongqing, Party Secretary Zheng Zedong, Associate Dean Zhang Pinjia, and Party Committee Member and Head of the Student Affairs Group Zhang Ling. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Pinjia.

Kang Chongqing warmly welcomed the delegation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and then introduced EEA’s “One Department, Two Institutes, One Center, One Alliance” 5-in-1 strategic organizational framework, alumni affairs, and discipline development. He expressed gratitude for the visit and hoped to deepen future cooperation in talent cultivation.

Liu Yadong provided a detailed introduction to the development history, personnel structure, discipline setup, research characteristics, external cooperation, and future work plans of the School of Electrical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He highly praised the leading role of EEA in the electrical discipline and emphasized that this exchange laid a solid foundation for further cooperation between the two sides.

Zhang Pinjia reported on the overall situation of EEA, elaborating on its historical evolution, organizational structure, discipline system, talent cultivation, and faculty team construction. He also shared recent achievements including research awards, projects and outcomes, and international research collaborations.
During the exchange session, participants engaged in lively discussions on alumni affairs, AI-enabled teaching, credit reform, professional course offerings, research grant applications, student thesis work, student practice, and scientific and technological innovation. Through this exchange, both sides clarified future cooperation directions and plans, laying a solid foundation for deepening collaboration going forward.
