On the afternoon of October 20, Zhang Wenping, General Manager of SDIC Power Holding Co., Ltd. (SDIC Power), and Li Bin, Director of the Production Department, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) of Tsinghua University. Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, attended the meeting. Lu Chao, D eputy Dean of EEA , presided over the meeting.

Before the meeting, Professor Cheng Lin of EEA led a visit of the State Key Laboratory of “New Power System Operation and Control”, and introduced the development process, research orientation and core achievement of the laboratory.

Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, introduced the discipline distribution of “one department and two institutes” and the orientation of “dual-carbon” scientific research of EEA. Lu Chao, Deputy Dean of EEA, introduced the scientific research work of EEA. Researcher Gao Wensheng and Associate Professor Lu Zongxiang of EEA introduced the scientific research and development of the Tsinghua University Energy Internet Innovation Institute and the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, respectively.

In the discussion and exchange stage, Gao Hongchao, a postdoctoral fellow of EEA, introduced the “Key Technology System of Virtual Power Plants Serving New Power Systems”, and shared the team’s achievements in large-scale and flexible-resource virtual power plants.

The participants had lively discussions on basic modeling, dynamic aggregation, optimal coordinated scheduling, and policy mechanisms in virtual power plants of common concern to both parties, and explored fields and means of feasible future cooperation between both parties in hydrogen production technology, digital energy storage, shared energy storage technology, carbon metering and carbon capture, etc.
