On July 8, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics,theEnergy Internet Innovation Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Institute) andtheTsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Institute (hereinafter referred to as Sichuan Institute) held a joint meeting of “One Department and Two Institutes” inroom102, West Main Building, Tsinghua University. More than 20 people including Kang Chongqing,DeanofEEA, Yu Xinjie, secretary of the Party Committee ofEEA, Zhao Wei, ExecutiveDirector of the Beijing Institute, and Lu Zongxiang, ExecutiveDeputy Directorof the Sichuan Institute attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Kang Chongqing,Dean of EEA, Director of the Beijing Institute, andDirector of the Sichuan Institute.

At the meeting, firstly, Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee ofEEA, Zhao Wei, Executive Dean of the Beijing Institute, and Lu Zongxiang, ExecutiveDeputy Directorof the Sichuan Institute,introduced the work in the first half and plan in the second half of 2021 aboutchange of terms, talent training, team building, technological innovation, achievement transformation and industrial development.Then, reports and discussionswere madeon seven topics. Associate Professor Sun Kai, assistant to the dean ofEEA, introduced the newly establishedIntegrated Energy System Committee. Associate Professor Yu Zhanqing, deputydean ofEEA, introduced the internal control constructionof EEA andthe Beijing Institute. Professor Zhao Wei, ExecutiveDirector of the Beijing Institute, introduced the preparations for the Energy Internet Alliance Conference and related thinking. Lv Lanchun,head of the Research Management Department of SichuanInstitute, introduced the progress of the research project on the development strategy of the energy Internet discipline. Professor Zhu Guiping,DeputyDean ofEEA, introduced the cultivation of the Doctor of Engineeringfor theSouthwest Program. Associate Professor Zhang Pinjia, assistant to the dean ofEEA, introduced the preparation for the celebration ofEEA. Associate Professor Lu Chao,DeputyDean ofEEA, introduced the scientific research organization and coordination of the “One department and two institutes”inmajor projects, scientific research platforms, and research teams. Liu Yi,DeputyDean of the Sichuan Institute, introduced how to form a joint scientific research force from the perspective of the Sichuan Institute. During the exchange and discussion session, the participants had a lively discussion on each topic.

Finally, Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, affirmed the workachievement of each unitin the first half of the year. For future work, Kang Chongqing emphasized that first of all, it is necessary to seize the opportunity, closely follow the "dual carbon target" proposed by the central government, and think about whatEEAcan do, keep pace with the development of the industry and the strategic needs of the country, and act quickly; the second is totake the initiative, actively respond to the call of the party and the state, and have thinking, actions, and plans for the policies proposed by thegovernment; thethird is to coordinate resources,includinghuman resources, space resources, and platform resources,expand thesystem and resource advantages of the “One department and two institute”, andmaximizethe achievement.
