On December 10, the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence released the list of winners of the 10th Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award in 2020. Nominated and recommended by various local artificial intelligence societies, associations and alliances, universities and scientific research institutes, professional committees and working committees of the CAAI, member organizations (enterprises), CAS and CAE academicians, society fellows, and other experts and scholars, 100 achievements were awarded by the Office of Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award through evaluation online, preliminary evaluation by the session, academic query and answer, and final evaluation. The project "Intelligent Analysis and Assessment Technology and Application of Power System Security and Stability" completed by Hu Wei, Lu Zongxiang, Min Yong and Qiao Ying of the New Energy Power System Dynamics and Operation team of EEA won the second prize of the 10th Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Progress Award. Our teacher Zhang Ning won the 10th Wu Wenjun AI Outstanding Youth Award.

With the support of the National 863 Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Project and the Science and Technology Project of State Grid Co., Ltd., the New Energy Power System Dynamics and Operation team of EEA has been aiming at the difficult problems of power system security and stability analysis and assessment since 2011, using big data and AI technology to carry out research on three parts: online accurate identification of massive data and intelligent construction of simulation scene, intelligent acquisition of dynamic security domain and intelligent evaluation of transient stability, and jointly completed theoretical and technical breakthroughs, system research and development and engineering application with the National Power Dispatching and Control Center, the Northeast Branch, the Central China Branch, Hubei Power Co., Ltd. of the State Grid and other units, and achieved significant economic and social benefits.

Associate Professor Zhang Ning of EEA won the Wu Wenjun AI Outstanding Youth Award for his research on smart grid analysis and prediction based on machine learning. Associate Professor Zhang Ning has carried out a series of studies in the cross-field of AI enabling smart grid, put forward the theory and method of data-driven uncertainty analysis of renewable energy, proposed a physical-information-society coupled portrait and prediction method of power user behavior, a data-driven power flow calculation, risk assessment, topology identification and planning optimization method, and developed an efficient analysis and accurate prediction solution based on artificial intelligence from the sides of power system generation, users and power grid. The research achievements have been applied in many provinces in China in the analysis of the output characteristics of renewable energy, the prediction of power market and the risk assessment of power system.

Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award, a science and technology award named after Mr. Wu Wenjun (May 12, 1919 - May 7, 2017), an outstanding scientist, mathematical master, artificial intelligence pioneer, pioneer and leader of intelligent scientific research in China, winner of the first National Supreme Science and Technology Award, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Honorary President of the Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence, established by the support of social forces, and qualified to nominate and recommend the National Science and Technology Award, is known as the "Highest Award for Intelligent Science and Technology in China" and represents the highest honor in the field of artificial intelligence.
