Xiaorong Xie received his B.S. Degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 1996, and Ph.D. from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2001, respectively. He is now working as a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University. In 2019, he was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (Grant No. 51925701). As a visiting scholar, he worked at the University of California, Los Angeles from Feb. to Aug., 2013. His research and teaching interests focus on power system dynamics analysis and control, renewable energy integration, subsynchronous resonance/oscillation, flexible transmission & distribution systems, wide-area monitoring and control of power systems. He has authored or co-authored over 200 technical papers and 3 books.
