Dr. Chuanyang Li received his Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University in 2018. From 2018 to 2022, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Bologna, the University of Connecticut, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University as an Assistant Researcher in June 2022, was selected for the National Young Talent Program in 2023, and was promoted to Associate Researcher in 2024.

He is a Senior Member of IEEE and serves as Associate Editor for three SCI-indexed journals: IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, High Voltage, and CSEE Journal of Power & Energy Systems. He is also a Youth Editorial Board Member of High Voltage Apparatus and Insulating Materials, Secretary-General of the Beijing High Voltage Committee under the China Electrotechnical Society, a committee member of the IEEE CEIDP, Executive Member of the Surface Discharge Subcommittee under the IEEE PES China High Voltage Insulation Technical Committee, and has held over 10 roles such as subcommittee chair, technical committee member, and working group member at international conferences. Over the past five years, he has delivered more than 10 keynote and invited talks at international conferences.

His main research areas include fundamental theory, key technologies, and equipment development for GIS/GIL. In the past three years, he has led over 30 national, provincial, and industry-funded research projects, including those by State Grid Corporation. He has published over 200 papers in related fields, with his SCI-indexed papers winning more than 20 international awards. His honors include two IEEE early-career achievement awards, two First Prizes of the Beijing Natural Science Award, the 2023 JPhysD Emerging Leader Award, two Gold Awards (1st and 3rd prize) and one Silver Award (2nd prize) from the China Association of Inventions, and more than 10 international journal recognitions such as Best Paper of the Year, Editor's Choice, and Cover Paper. His work was highlighted in the August 2022 issue of Electrical Insulation Magazine, which noted: "Some of the papers he wrote have become milestones in their fields."
