After briefly defining the nanodielectrics, current achievements with them are identified and commented. In particular, the relevance of the nanostructured microcommposites will be discussed. Variability of nanodielectric properties will be exemplified, e.g. the case of breakdown. Current research for the last 2 years at the Hydro-Québec’s research institute will be commented and some particular cases will be explored.

报告人介绍

Dr. Michel Fréchette has a graduate degree in physics. He has been involved in applied basic research in various fields related to electrical insulation and insulating materials. His major contributions involve discharge physics, dielectric phenomena and nanodielectrics.
