The 9th Asia-Pacific Physical Society Plasma Physics Conference (AAPPS-DPP 2025) was held from September 21 to 26 in Fukuoka, Japan. The conference Awards Committee presented the “Young Scientist Award (U40)” to Associate Professor Fu Yangyang of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), Tsinghua University, in recognition of his research contributions in microscale gas discharges and low-temperature plasma scaling theory. Established in 2016, this award is presented annually to outstanding Asia-Pacific scholars under 40 in seven fields—basic plasma, applied plasma, laser plasma, space and geophysical plasma, solar/astrophysical plasma, and magnetic confinement nuclear fusion—awarding no more than one recipient per field. Associate Professor Fu Yangyang received the award in the field of basic plasma.
