The IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society (EMC) 2025 Annual Meeting was held from August 18–22 in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. At the awards ceremony on August 21, Professor Stephanie Zajac, Chair of the Awards Committee, announced that the recipient of the 2025 Richard R. Stoddard Award for Outstanding Performance is Professor He Jinliang, Chair of the Academic Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) at Tsinghua University and Director of the High Voltage and Insulation Technology Research Institute. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to lightning protection technology, including breakthroughs in fundamental theory and innovations in key technologies.
The Richard R. Stoddard Award for Outstanding Performance is the highest honor in IEEE EMC technology, recognizing distinguished experts who have made exceptional contributions to advancing EMC technology or addressing societal and technical challenges in the EMC field. Established in 1979 by the IEEE EMC Society, the award is presented annually to only one recipient worldwide.
