In order to strengthen the overall linkage and improve the synergy efficiency, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) of Tsinghua University, the Institute of Energy Internet Innovation of Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as the Beijing Institute) and the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Sichuan Institute) held the “One Department and Two Institutes” mid-year joint meeting in Chengdu on July 9, 2022. Nearly 30 people including Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Director of the Beijing Institute and Director of the Sichuan Institute, Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA and other party and administrative members of EEA, Executive Vice President Gao Wensheng and Vice President Gao Feng of the Beijing Institute, Executive Vice President Lu Zongxiang, Vice President Liu Wanhua and Vice President Liu Yi of the Sichuan Institute attended the meeting. The morning and afternoon meetings were chaired by Kang Chongqing and Yu Xinjie respectively.

At the joint meeting

At the meeting, Yu Xinjie, Gao Wensheng, and Lu Zongxiang respectively introduced the work of EEA, Beijing Institute and Sichuan Institute in the first half of 2021 and the work plan for the second half of the year in terms of talent training, team building, and technological innovation.

Then in a combination of guided speeches and discussion speeches and focusing on eight topics including the work linkage of “one department and two institutes”, energy Internet think tank work, strategic research fund project of new power system, energy Internet ecosystem construction and industrial development, preparation for the 2022 Alumni Conference and the National Energy Internet Conference, joint training of talents, joint publicity work, and preparation for the 2022 Forum of Presidents of Schools (Colleges) of Electrical Engineering. At the meeting, the participants spoke freely about the difficulties and pain points encountered in actual work, expressed their opinions, and actively put forward constructive opinions.

Finally, Kang Chongqing made a summary of the meeting. He said that in the first half of the year, the “one department and two institutes” work has brought many highlights, fruitful results, and good publicity effects. He was very grateful to all the staff of the “one department and two institutes” for their hard work. He hope that everyone will strengthen the understanding and action of the new work concept proposed by the university in the next step, unify their thoughts and actions into the university’s arrangement and deployment, and make every effort to promote the key work in the second half of the year. He fully affirmed the early linkage effect of the “one department and two institutes”, and hoped that the joint meeting could be an opportunity to improve the long-term mechanism and lay a foundation for consolidating the effect of the linkage and creating a new pattern of linkage.
