Biography

I am a full Professor with Tenure with Electrical Engineering Department, Tsinghua University, China, and Distinguished Young Scholar supported by the National Science Fund. I was rewarded the prize of Distinguished Young I am a full Professor with Tenure with Electrical Engineering Department, Tsinghua University, China, and Distinguished Young Scholar supported by the National Science Fund. I was rewarded the prize of Distinguished Young Engineer of Chinese Electrical Engineering Society and enrolled in Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University by Ministry of Education. I have developed online dynamic security assessment & preventive control system, wide area coordinated & distributed dispatcher simulator in China. I also developed FDNE based TSA-EMT hybrid real-time simulator for AC/DC networks. I proposed and implemented the hierarchical distribution management system including local cluster control, distribution network optimization and transmission & distribution networks coordination. This system has been developed and deployed several urban distribution networks. I developed a hierarchical model predictive control based power dispatch& control system to accommodate large scale wind power integration, in which stochastic UC, robust interval dispatch model and efficient algorithms are originally proposed. A control center and wind farm coordinated closed-loop control system has been developed and put into real practice. As a core developer, I developed energy management system which has been deployed in over 70 power system control centers located in 23 provincial power grid. I have been the PI for 5 grants supported by National Science Foundation of China, more than 30 research projects granted from Department of Science &Technology and Industry Corporations. I have also won the second class prize of State Technology Innovation Award, and 13 prizes at provincial and ministry level. I published or preprinted more than 400 peer-reviewed papers including 61 IEEE Transactions papers, the citation number is 11000+ in google scholar; I hold 100+ invention patents of China and 18 USA invention patents.
