1. Basic concepts of discrete-time signal and system, introduction of z-transform and discrete-time system analysis (3 course hours);

2. Discrete-time Fourier Transform (DTFT) and Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) (4 course hours);

3. Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithms of radix-2 and radix-4, Chirp z-transform (CZT) (3 course hours);

4. Structure, phase and state-variable analysis of discrete-time system (3 course hours);

5. Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter design (3 course hours);

6. Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter design (3 course hours);

7. Introduction to DSP hardware and DSP hardware experiments using TMS320C54 (6 course hours);

8. Definition and description of stationary random signal, its behavior after passing through a linear system, definition of correlation function and power spectrum (5 course hours);

9. Classic methods for power spectrum estimation, properties of the estimators and their improved versions (3 course hours);

10. Modern power spectrum estimation methods on the basis of AR, MA and ARMA model, minimum-variance spectral estimation method and Pisarenko harmonic decomposition method (6 course hours);

11. Advanced topics, including MATLAB applications, graphics compression and its international standards (4 course hours).
