Course Description:

     The course is about the fundamental principle, design and operation of electrical prime system and devices of modern power plant (thermal, hydro and nuclear etc). Through this course, a student can learn about the basic proceeding of generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electricity, and also the basic principle of electrical prime system and devices used in power plant, and the design method of the electrical part of typical thermal power plant. And the main content of this course are focus on evaluation and designation method of the bus arrangement system and the electrical devices in power plant.

1.Students should skillfully master the basic electrical devices used in power plant and the typical modes of bus arrangements system. [1, 3]

2.Students can design the bus arrangement system of a typical thermal power plant and select suitable high voltage devices. [3, 5, 11]

3.Students are familiar with engineering calculation method and the ability to analysis a given bus arrangements system. [5, 11]
